Review of McDonald’s Angus CBO and Chicken CBO Sandwiches

I first found out about this sandwich when passing by the McDonald’s at 2345 El Cajon Boulevard in San Diego and saw the banner on the roof advertising the “new CBO {cheddar bacon onion}”. I had not seen the commercials yet so I did not know if this was a sandwich, an option to existing sandwiches or what? So I went through drive thru to find out what it was.

What is a McDonald’s CBO

The CBO are three new McDonald’s sandwiches. All three have two slices of White Cheddar Cheese, Bacon, Caramelized Onions and a Creamy Mustard Sauce. The first is made with the 100% Angus Beef Third Pounder, the second is the Premium Crispy Chicken patty and the third is the Premium Grilled Chicken patty. Here is my review of the three CBO sandwiches and which one I recommend as being the best.

Angus CBO Sandwich

Mcdonald's Angus CBO and Chicken CBO SandwichesFor this visit I tried the Angus CBO Sandwich. I placed my order and pulled up to the window to pay and get my order. The drive thru crew barely engaged me as a customer. The three people in drive thru where talking among themselves, it appeared they where talking about what someone did or was going to do on the weekend. When my food was ready they passed it to me out the window, did not say a word to me and went back to their conversation. I had to get their attention to get some extra napkins. The guy seemed bothered and passed me two napkins and went back to his conversation.

Well, on to the CBO Angus Burger. The burger was served hot and looked very good. So, hats off to the cooks. They did a good job. I liked this burger. The combination of White Cheddar Cheese, Bacon, Caramelized Onions and the Creamy Mustard Sauce was perfect. The burger was juicy (by fast food standards) and the bun was fresh.Mcdonald's Angus CBO and Chicken CBO Sandwiches

Health wise, at 790 Calories and 41 grams of fat the Angus CBO is the least healthy burger on the McDonald’s menu. The Angus CBO also has 62 grams of carbohydrates, 1830 mg of sodium and 45 grams of protean. If you want a good tasting burger and are not worried about the eating healthy for a meal then this is a good choice.

Premium Crispy Chicken CBO Sandwich

For the Premium Crispy Chicken CBO Sandwich I went to the McDonald’s at 8876 North Cuyamaca Street in Santee, CA. This is one of my favorite McDonald’s as I almost always get great service and the food is usually made correctly. This visit was no exception. Everything was perfect.

The Crispy Chicken CBO sandwich was served hot and looked great. But, I did not like it. The combination of the crispy chicken patty with the creamy ingredients did not seem to mesh together like they did on the Angus CBO sandwich. The taste of the sauce was separate from the chicken and did not enhance the taste of the chicken at all.

For nutrition the Crispy Chicken CBO is 630 calories, has 32 grams of protein, 29 grams of fat, 61 grams of carbohydrates and 1630 mg of sodium.

Premium Grilled Chicken CBO Sandwich

Mcdonald's Angus CBO and Chicken CBO SandwichesFor the Premium Grilled Chicken CBO Sandwich I went back to the McDonald’s at 8876 North Cuyamaca Street in Santee, CA. Again the service was outstanding.

The Grilled Chicken CBO sandwich was also served hot and looked great. And guess what, I liked it. In this case the creamy ingredients did enhance the flavor of the chicken. The texture of the chicken in this case allowed for the sauce to mix better and create a great taste.

For nutrition this is a great choice at only 480 calories, 36 grams of protein, 16 grams of fat, 47 grams of carbohydrates and 1460 mg of sodium.

Summary

When I get a chicken sandwich I prefer a crispy chicken as I like the texture better and I feel that I’m eating healthier (than a burger) and not sacrificing taste. But, this is the exception when the grilled chicken actually tastes better than the crispy. Also, when I go for fast food I prefer beef over chicken and only get chicken when I am feeling I should eat healthier at that moment. So for me to say that the Premium Grilled Chicken CBO Sandwich is as good as the Angus CBO Sandwich is saying a lot. So, with the Grilled Chicken CBO coming in at only 480 calories and 16 grams of fat vs. the Angus CBO with 790 calories and 41 grams of fat it is an easy choice to select the Premium Grilled Chicken CBO Sandwich as the best CBO sandwich.

Review of the McDonald’s Daily Double Cheeseburger

After watching the commercials for the McDonald’s new Daily Double cheeseburger, I had to try one. At first this looks a lot like one of my favorite McDonald’s burgers, the McDLT or the Big N’ Tasty. So I thought this has to be good. Here is my review of the McDonald’s Daily Double Cheeseburger.

What is a McDonald’s Daily Double

To try this burger I went through the drive thru at the McDonald’s on 2796 Main Street in San Diego. The service was quick and both drive thru employees were friendly. The Daily Double was served fresh and hot. At first I thought maybe I got the wrong sandwich as this looks to be the size of a McDouble not a Quarter Pounder. So I opened it up and yes this is the Daily Double. Basically you get a McDouble with lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise and larger onions replacing the mustard, ketchup and chopped onions. See the photos of the Daily Double both open and closed. As you can see everything looks fresh and looks very appetizing.

Taste

So how did it taste? It was good, not great, but good. The extras did not add much to the taste to make this much better than a regular McDouble. It needed something with a little bite to it, maybe pickles or Big Mac Sauce instead of the mayo.

Value

Sildenafil boosts the blood supply browse now order viagra professional levels to the penis. Acute bacterial prostatitis produces symptoms like fever, headache and buy canadian viagra nausea are seen. However, let’s not forget the trauma generic viagra online you can try this out the man suffering from impotency goes through. In case a side effect causes some serious trouble in the near purchase viagra online future. My main issue with this burger is that I am not sure I agree with McDonald’s that this burger is an Extra Value Menu item at $1.99. When you can get a McDouble for half the price, it does not seem to be a value to pay double the price for some lettuce, a slice of tomato, some mayo and some fresh onions. If it is going to be on the “Extra Value Menu” it should have been $1.49 to be a value.

Nutrition

When it comes to Nutrition for the Daily Double is not bad when compared to the McDouble. The Daily Double has only 50 more calories at 440 calories and only 5 more grams of fat at 24 grams when compared to the McDouble. The protein at 23 grams and carbohydrates at 33 grams are the same as the McDouble. The real surprise is that the Daily Double is lower in sodium at 810 milligrams, 20 milligrams less than the McDouble. This may be due to the fact that the McDouble uses reconstituted onions and there may be extra sodium used as a preservative in those onions.

Summary

In summary, the McDonald’s Daily Double is a little better tasting than the McDouble. For nutrition it is only slightly worse than the McDouble, except for sodium where it is better. As to value, the Daily Double is not worth double the price of a McDouble.
