UPDATED with current Nutrition Facts on April 18, 2013: McDonald’s announces the new Egg White Delight to be released nationwide April 22 2013. The Egg White Delight is a lean healthier egg white version of the Egg McMuffin breakfast sandwich. The McDonald’s Egg White Delight has egg whites, extra lean Canadian bacon, a slice of white cheddar cheese on a toasted whole grain English muffin.
The Egg White Delight has only 250 calories. That is 50 calories less than the Egg McMuffin that comes in at 300 calories. You also get less total fat at 7 grams compared to 12 grams. Saturated fat is 2 grams lower at 3 grams. Trans fats are the same at 0 grams. The largest savings is on Cholesteral with only 25 mg compared to 260mg. Sodium is the same at 780 mg. Total carbs are also the same at 32 grams. You do get one more gram of fiber with 5 grams. Sugars are the same with 3 grams and protein is also the same at 18 grams. The following are the known allergens for the Egg White Delight sandwich: egg, soy lecithin, wheat and milk.
With the release of the Egg White Delight, you will also have the option to substitute egg whites with any other breakfast sandwich.
The McDonald’s Egg McMuffin is also Made Healthier
The Muffin used for the McDonald’s Egg McMuffin is being replaced with the same whole grain English muffin that is being introduced with the McDonald’s Egg White Delight. Overall the nutrition will remain the same for the Egg McMuffin except it add 2 grams of total Carbohydrates. But these extra carbs are the good carbs as this adds 2 grams of Dietary Fiber.
The McDonald’s Egg McMuffin is made with a freshly cracked Grade A egg with extra lean Canadian bacon, a slice of American cheese and now a toasted whole grain English muffin.
With only 300 calories, 110 calories from fat, 12 grams of fat, 5 grams of saturated fat, 0 trans fat, 260 mg cholesterol, 780 mg of sodium, 32 grams of carbohydrates, 4 grams of dietary fiber, 3 grams of sugar and 18 grams of protein.
